Introduction
NekotApp (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as this “Policy”) as set forth below regarding the handling of users’ personal information and privacy in connection with the smartphone applications and websites provided by us (hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Services”).
The Japanese version of this Policy is the official and original version, and any English version or other translation is provided for reference purposes only.
In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese version and a translated version, the Japanese version shall prevail.
1. Information We Collect
In providing the Services, we may collect the following information. If you do not provide such information, you may be unable to use all or part of the Services.
(1) Information Provided by Users
- Users’ names, email addresses, and other contact information provided when making inquiries
- Other content entered by users within the application, including notes and records

(2) Information Automatically Collected from Devices
For the purpose of improving the quality of the Services and analyzing usage, we may automatically collect the following information:
- Device information, including operating system and device model
- Application usage information and operation history
- IP address and regional information limited to an approximate location
- Location information, only where the user has granted permission
- Advertising identifiers, including IDFA and Google Advertising ID
(3) Use of Information Collection Modules, Cookies, and Similar Technologies
For the purposes of analyzing usage of the Services, delivering advertisements, and improving functionality, we use services provided by the following third parties, including information collection modules and cookies. As a result, the following information may be automatically transmitted to the relevant service providers.

Information Transmitted:
- Applications: Device IDs, advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), operation history, location information, crash logs, and similar information
- Websites: Cookies, IP addresses, browser information, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and similar information

How to Opt Out:
- Applications: You may change the tracking permission granted through App Tracking Transparency (ATT) on iOS / iPadOS at any time by opening “Settings” → “Privacy & Security” → “Tracking” and changing the permission for the relevant application. Where the application displays an option such as “Privacy Settings,” “Ad Settings,” or “Consent Settings,” you may change your consent choices for advertising there (see: FAQ).
- Websites: Use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or configure cookie settings in the browser
2. Purposes of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the Services
- To improve the Services and develop new features
- To analyze usage and respond to problems or malfunctions
- To provide user support and respond to inquiries
- To deliver and optimize advertisements and provide personalized advertising (targeted advertising)
- To take actions required under applicable laws or the Terms of Use
3. Provision of Information to External Services
In order to achieve the purposes of use described above, information may be transmitted to external service providers, including advertising and analytics service providers, to the extent necessary.
Information such as device information, advertising identifiers, app usage data, interaction data, and other information may be transmitted to external service providers to the extent necessary for ad delivery, performance measurement, usage analysis, and improvement of the Services. The information transmitted and its handling are governed by the privacy policies and other terms of the respective external service providers.
4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
We will not provide users’ personal information to third parties except in the following cases:
- Where required under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable laws and regulations
- Where necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property
- Where information is provided to a contractor to the extent necessary for outsourced operations
- Where the user has given consent
- Where personal information may be provided without the user’s consent under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, including cases involving outsourcing or joint use
Where a business partner that qualifies as a joint user under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information is required in order to provide the Services to users, we may jointly use users’ personal information with that business partner in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. In such cases, before commencing joint use, we will separately disclose to users that the information will be jointly used, the purpose of such joint use, the scope of information to be jointly used, the scope of joint users, the name or designation and address of the person responsible for managing the jointly used information, and, where the responsible party is a corporation, the name of its representative.
To the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use, we may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to contractors in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, including where we outsource payment processing or part of the operations relating to the Services. In such cases, we will sufficiently review the qualifications of the contractor, include confidentiality obligations and other appropriate provisions in the outsourcing agreement, supervise the contractor, and establish a system to ensure that the information is properly managed.
5. Data Storage Location and Retention Period
Content such as users’ notes and records is, in principle, stored on the user’s device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Log data and analytics data are stored in accordance with the policies of the relevant external service providers.
Data directly managed by us will be retained for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of use and will thereafter be appropriately deleted.
6. Location Information
Location information is used to provide functions of the Services, including obtaining weather information.
Providing location information is optional, and users may change their permission settings at any time through their device settings.
7. Use by Minors
Minor users must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before using the Services.
Where we determine that it is necessary in relation to a minor user, we may request confirmation of consent from the user’s parent or guardian.
8. Users’ Rights
Users may request the following:
- Disclosure of their information
- Correction of inaccurate information

Suspension of use or deletion
- However, it may not be technically possible to accommodate such requests in certain cases
- Disclosure of records concerning the provision of personal information to third parties
Users who wish to make such a request should contact us using the contact details set out below. Where we receive a request from a user to exercise these rights under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we will, only where we are legally obligated to disclose the relevant personal information, verify that the request has been made by the user in question and disclose the personal information without undue delay. In such cases, the user will be required to pay a disclosure fee in accordance with procedures separately established by us.
9. Security Measures
In order to prevent unauthorized access to, loss, destruction, or alteration of user information, we implement the necessary and appropriate security measures required under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and applicable guidelines.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may amend this Policy as necessary.
If any material changes are made, we will provide notice through the Services.
However, where user consent is required by law for a change, we will obtain such consent by a method we consider appropriate in accordance with applicable law. Unless the effect of such consent is denied by law, if a user continues to use the Services after the date specified in the notice, the user will be deemed to have agreed to the amended Policy.
